Beach Trip

We've had a few great summer weeks of fun. Jonathan has been off the last 2 weeks and Nancy came with Whitt to visit 3 weeks ago. Fun! Caroline is just talking all the time-every thought is said and it is very amusing. She likes to say, "I'm proud of you, Mommy" and "Did you get this at Wal-Mart or Target?" Today we were headed to get pizza and she said, "Pizza is way too tired" which I think means she is tired of pizza:) Olivia is starting to open her hands more, cooing more and loving our reading times. She loves to sit up and watch Caroline run around too. And there is plenty of that to watch! We also went to Destin for a night last week which was a nice break.

Fourth of July at Grammy's house:


We stopped at the zoo on the way to Destin. In the second picture, Caroline had just petted a snake. I love the look on Jonathan's face. The baby goats were precious. Olivia had a nice time too-I think she liked the train ride.

The pool and beach were a bit cold since it was about to rain but Caroline was much better about enjoying it this year....thanks to her new beach/water shoes to keep sand off her feet. The best part might have been seeing Caroline tearing through the hotel lobby with her new rolling suitcase.

Our little one is not so little...she's pretty long. At her 2 month appt she weighed 13 lb 8 oz...99% for weight and height. I am trying to hang on to every moment.

Summertime

We've had a fun summer so far. Last week Tina, Parker and Claire came to visit and we had a blast. They went to the Battleship, Museum of Mobile, and several other cultural places. The kids had a wonderful time playing together. They got to join in on our Hokey Pokey wake-up routine. I took all the kids to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch one day. We had a great time!

We recently went to Catfish Junction with Jonathan's grandmother and I managed to get one picture...can't ever seem to have my camera ready enough.

June Already?

I can't believe how fast time is passing....maybe it is the sleep deprivation? Baby is now at least 12 lbs and growing so fast. She is smiling and cooing (and crying) her days away. Caroline just started her summer mother's day out session and loves it. She enjoys the singing and playing on the playground so much. I love the art projects she brings home each time! I can't get enough of the now 2 1/2 year old. I absolutely love every minute. The cheeks are still chubby and the brain is learning so much. Caroline loves to say, "I show you, Mommy" about everything. She is counting to 16 now and knows a bit of sign language. She even tells me when Olivia's hand is making a letter:) Amazing how fast they grow. I want to freeze time.
