Future Volleyball Player?

We attended our first Georgia Tech women's volleyball game last night. They were in town playing Virginia so we thought we would check it out. It was really fun! The families of the players were very welcoming and nice to us. Caroline even loved it too. She sat and watched the game (people, band, etc.) with us for over 2 hours like a big girl. I think her daddy was scoping out her future athletic possibilities. He ordered her outfit last week so she would have something appropriate to wear. Not exactly a feminine outfit, but I think she pulled it off.

Mischief

She knows she isn't supposed to go in the kitchen, so her new favorite game is to tauntingly crawl to the edge and make sure I watch as she races across the line to the kitchen. Then she turns back every 2 or 3 strides to make sure I am coming after her. The thrill of the chase is too much to resist. The giggles are worth my frustration (for now).

Today I found her INSIDE her toy bin and she looked so proud.

Auburn Spirit

We finally got to watch a game with Caroline and wear some AU clothes...fresh from our trip through Auburn where all I could find in her size was a t-shirt. Next year I will start earlier. And I will have to get caught up on Georgia Tech gear too!

Crawling is being perfected everyday. A few days ago, Jonathan opened the door to the guest room where we were playing and she promptly just crawled out of the room without so much as a wave goodbye. The era of all doors closed is here.

Can you see that we love puppy?

Guess who is a crawler now?

Our little caterpillar is on the move.
At her doctor appointment today, we found that she is staying on track for the 90% for height and average for weight. Long torso and legs indeed!

Whew

We have just arrived back home after our fall whirlwind tour. After staying in 6 cities across 4 states we are exhausted. After all of our air travel, I was afraid I would be rusty on the road trip travel but it was fine. Caroline did great, thankfully. She loved seeing so many people and even learned to wave bye-bye over the course of the trip. I think it is safe to say she really enjoys dogs too since she spent time with 4 very different dogs and liked them all. No rest though. This will be a very busy week with somewhere for us to be everyday. The biggest event is on Thursday when we start a MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) program. She is starting to get a little shy so hopefully this doesn't warrant a meltdown. Yikes.
I am mad at myself for not taking more pictures. Here are some from the trip.
After nights in North Carolina and Atlanta, we stopped in Auburn at one of my old favorite places from college days, Niffers.

We headed down to Mobile where we enjoyed a family cookout and birthday celebration for Jonathan. The cake was perfect-what do you put on a cake for a Nephrologist? A urine cup, of course!!

At Grammy's house, we learned that Caroline has started falling asleep sitting straight up and then falling over like a tree trunk.

On the way to Florence, we got some good Peek-a-boo time.

Florence was quick but a lot of fun. Caroline got her 9 month picture made and got some time to play with my parents while I ran around to all the baby stores. We also got a quick play date with some of my friends' babies and toddlers which was so fun. Caroline was definitely fascinated by all the fast moving toddlers.

In Birmingham, the birthday celebration continued with some German Chocolate-yum.
We enjoyed relaxing and hanging out with my sister's family which included a yummy belgium waffle breakfast.
I could not resist sharing my niece's various notes on her wall in her room-so funny.
Notice the skull and crossbones.
A message to 'Go green' by the light switch.
Jonathan approves of this one.
Her to-do list says Richmond-we think she meant Enrichment.
We stopped near Guntersville at Catfish Cabin to have lunch with my family on my mother's side. Sweet cousin Carson was turning 3 years old already!!
We stayed one last night near Bristol and we drove by the Nascar arena. I loved the huge Sharpie pen!
And one last random sign that I thought was cute.........
