Welcome Olivia Charlotte Cole

She's here!! What an adventure. We arrived at the hospital Tuesday night at 10:30pm, ready to start some initial steps for a Wednesday induction. As soon as I got checked in and into bed my contractions started picking up. They put the monitor on and very soon I was having some very real contractions-without any medicine. So we were in the right place at the right time! It was too early for an epidural so I got other pain medication to get me through the night. Thank goodness! Induction started around 8 on Wednesday and I had Olivia Charlotte Cole at 3:16pm on the 21st. She was NINE POUNDS and two ounces. I knew she was big! We are very in love with her already. Amazing how just setting eyes on your baby can produce such love.

Last pregnant pic with Caroline.

My sweet husband spent the night on a small bed.

Last pic before baby (don't I look ready?!)

Here she is after her first bath that she did not appreciate.

Meeting big sister

Caroline has been very sweet, especially since we got home. She loves to give kisses but does not like it when she cries.

Coming home

Meeting family (my family arrives today)

At home now for a few days. Sleeping during the day more than at night but definitely a sweet girl and very alert when awake. I can't get enough of her...love her smell:)

Waiting Patiently

We are waiting for baby to make her arrival. She isn't due until the 27th, but we had an ultrasound last week that says she is a little bigger than average so I keep thinking she will come early. I think our doctor has agreed to induce on the 21st if all things look favorable so....looks like less than a week now! Caroline askes me several times a day, "Oweweah in mommy's tummy, right?" just to make sure she is informed.
We've also had no Mother's Day Out this week so it has been alot of entertaining on my part. I've had to choose things that don't hurt my back, which goes in and out of use every few days.
We've had a fun week. I keep thinking how our outings are about to change forever and it makes me a little sad to change, but I know we'll adjust eventually.
The watermelon patch, or as she says, "wawermewon patch" is an indoor playground of fun.
One day we wore a raincoat and pants all day b/c she insisted. It was sunny and warm. This is her serious look that she posed when she knew I was going to take a picture.
Today we went to the park..ponytail, sunglasses and later a sun hat.

Our first band-aid boo boo was a shock.

Church days are hectic when Daddy is working but we have fun anyway. She likes to mimic this statue at church.

Miss independent likes to put on her own pants, shoes and brush her own teeth these days.

Lots of practicing for baby. She is really liking putting newborn size diapers on her dolls and even throwing them away in the diaper genie.

This morning (in her pjs and tutu) she decided to give baby Rose a spin in the swing. Face down no less. Oh boy...this is going to be interesting when a real baby is around!

We are reading so many big sister books but her favorite by far is called 'Baby Dear' from the 1950s. We read it 3 times a day, at least.

Happy Easter

We've had a great time getting ready for Easter. Caroline loves playing in the yard and finding eggs.

Showing off her Easter art from school.

Easter pics with the ducks were fun. She wasn't afraid at all!

Easter Sunday....the Easter Bunny came but it took us all day to see all the toys:)

We had lunch with Grammy and Ole. Somehow she got Jonathan to color...something he does not do often:)
Naptime was approaching....

And after nap, full of energy. She put easter basket grass EVERYWHERE.

Earlier in the week, my AWESOME friends from Side-by-Side (Bible study group for physician wives) threw a surprise baby shower for me and Robin, who is due with Ansley in July. I showed up at La Pizzeria for our monthly girls night out and everyone yelled, "SURPRISE!" So fun!

Daddy has been off a few days extra and Caroline has really enjoyed it. They love getting the mail, doing 'flips' over his shoulder, riding on Daddy's back (or neck as she says). We took our last trip to the carousel as a family of 3....anxiously awaiting #4's arrival!

36 Week Belly:

Doctor thinks Olivia may be big.....extra ultrasound coming.
