Summertime

We've had a fun summer so far. Last week Tina, Parker and Claire came to visit and we had a blast. They went to the Battleship, Museum of Mobile, and several other cultural places. The kids had a wonderful time playing together. They got to join in on our Hokey Pokey wake-up routine. I took all the kids to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch one day. We had a great time!

Meeting Olivia:

Caroline loves playing with her cousins:

We celebrated Tina's birthday at Felix's Fish Camp:

Olivia likes bathtime!

Here's a good shot of her smile:

First time at church went smoothly since she slept in her carrier the entire time. Now we've been twice. Here's a pic after we got home the first time:

Tummy time is a family affair:

Backyard fun:

We recently went to Catfish Junction with Jonathan's grandmother and I managed to get one picture...can't ever seem to have my camera ready enough.

June Already?

I can't believe how fast time is passing....maybe it is the sleep deprivation? Baby is now at least 12 lbs and growing so fast. She is smiling and cooing (and crying) her days away. Caroline just started her summer mother's day out session and loves it. She enjoys the singing and playing on the playground so much. I love the art projects she brings home each time! I can't get enough of the now 2 1/2 year old. I absolutely love every minute. The cheeks are still chubby and the brain is learning so much. Caroline loves to say, "I show you, Mommy" about everything. She is counting to 16 now and knows a bit of sign language. She even tells me when Olivia's hand is making a letter:) Amazing how fast they grow. I want to freeze time.

Finally got the 2 seat Chicco stroller...our first walk around the neighborhood. (Olivia's carrier is in the back)

Got an action shot of Olivia's batting practice:

We've celebrated summer with a few special treats.

Mischief!

SLEEP

Caroline loves to 'hold' Olivia (I am doing the work)

Just like our favorite story, Baby Dear, we feed our babies and take them out together. Caroline's 2 babies are usually involved on our outings.

One Day At a Time

We are slowly getting used to having two bosses/children. It definitely takes more planning to get out the door! This week and next week I have both girls all day since Caroline's school is on a break. We can do lunch out easily enough but I am not brave to do much more until we get our double stroller. The main issue is that Olivia still eats every 2.5-3 hours and I hate feeding her places coupled with the fact that Caroline loves to run away from us and laugh. Not sure I will be going to any stores with both for awhile! We are having fun at home..playing outside alot. Caroline is still being a champ about her loss of attention. Now, if we could just get her potty trained:)

First run in the swing:

Caroline always checks on her sister:

This is hard work!

Olivia's best 'friend' is this octopus....also loved by Caroline in her baby days
She started batting at it 2 days ago and coos at him now.

Proud sister:

Our laps are full:

Olivia is very alert:

I had the sweetest Mother's Day-roses, gift card for massage and Caroline brought this home from church. So sweet! I could not be happier!!

Olivia now weighs 10lb 8 oz and Caroline has grown an INCH in the last 6 weeks. My babies don't stay small long!! I have to keep documenting all this!

First Weeks

Olivia is now 2 weeks old and the weeks are flying by. I am so grateful for our friends who have been so giving. We have yet to cook a meal and there is another week of meals coming. Such a blessing!

Mom and Dad were here a week which was SO helpful. I had to pry Olivia out of Mom's hands most of the time:) Caroline had such a fun time too. She broke our hearts when she started crying, "I want my Nana" as Nana and Papa were leaving. But 2 year olds rebound quickly thankfully.

She loved walking around the neighborhood with Papa. (in her tutu)

Nana and Caroline played in the yard everyday. She dressed in her Tinkerbell outfit one day and they played with bubbles. She is truly FULL of JOY. I was a 3 year old teacher at a daycare one summer in college. There was one girl in my class who I will never forget. She was always happy, sweet and sang to herself while she played. I adored her...and now I have a daughter who reminds me of her. What a gift!

Nana enjoyed her time with Olivia. We are supplementing with bottles so she got to help feed too.

Caroline also got in on the bottles.

I could not have imagined that Caroline would do this well with Olivia. She hasn't had one problem so far. She says she loves her, kisses her, points out all her body parts. The only disturbance is her observation that Olivia doesn't have eyebrows yet. She seems puzzled by this.

Content right after a bath.

Most of my time is spent in the infamous man chair that we can't seem to get rid of yet. Just like last time we had a newborn. Oh well. It's serving a purpose, that is for sure.

We had some professional pictures taken today but here are some I snapped last week for fun.

Our 2 week doctor visit was this past Wednesday. Olivia weighed 9 lbs 8 ozs!
I can't express how much I am enjoying Olivia so far. I want to squeeze every second out of everyday.
