A Colonial Thanksgiving

We had a very busy week last week! We headed to Williamsburg on Saturday to meet up with Tina, Brian, Parker and Claire for a week of fun. Jonathan left me there on Sunday (some people have to work, right?) and returned in time for Thanksgiving. I loved Williamsburg. I had visited as a child but did not remember everything, not to mention all the newer things like outlet malls! Our condo was awesome and even had a huge arcade full of free games to play. Caroline had a blast with a new place to explore and cousins to watch. Here are some highlights from the trip.

Claire's birthday was the 22nd. She and I had some special time together and went to see High School Musical 3. We shared a tub of popcorn and we both always insist on not eating any until the movie starts:)

Between cousins to climb and a new place to explore, we didn't need many toys to keep her busy.

We wore Thanksgiving pajamas.

We ate a Chowning's Tavern...gobble gobble.

We had to bundle up alot.

We ate at a great French cafe that had an interesting sign that said, "A meal without cheese is like a pretty girl with one good eye."

Jamestown was really fun. They showed us authentic original Thanksgiving food which included a pig. The pig's head was on a table!!! EWWWWWW. Parker, Claire and I memorized the date of the first official Thanksgiving: December 4, 1619.

Some family poses....

And I had to share some of the sights! And Christmas decor-all real! It was beautiful-the weather was crisp and the air was saturated in the smell of firewood burning. Ahhhh.

I also love Williamsburg. I have never been when they have the Christmas decor up! Glad y'all had a nice Thanksgiving.
