Spring Nesting

Alas, it is time to put baby equiptment together. We've done a stroller, carrier, bouncy seat, travel swing, swing, etc. You get the idea. Batteries galore!

Here is Caroline determined to help me put together the travel swing.

Caroline is really helping get her clothes on these days. I have found her in various wardrobe changes after naptime. This one was the best-she added a hat, pants and tutu..and later her Kindermusik harmonica!

We've been watching Disney movies together. We did Peter Pan, Snow White and Cinderalla recently. I think Snow White is the favorite so far because she likes to start cleaning and singing the 'High-ho' song.

Everything that we announce that we will do next is followed by Caroline's guideline of 'One more minute, Mommy." (even when eating oatmeal)

She loves our bed. Every night when Daddy gets home she follows him to the bed so he can help her jump. (can you guess which pillow is my maternity one?!)

She pretends to be asleep too.

Jennifer hosted a marvelous family baby shower for me. It was just beautiful and I had a wonderful time. I don't get to see extended family enough!

Look at the spread! I LOVED the cake.

Tina was able to come which made for a nice sister weekend.

We played fun games and I got some wonderful gifts. I am so glad I won't have to buy diapers for awhile!!

Sometimes these two look alike. They certainly both have an affinity for reading. Sunday afternoon they both sat together reading the paper, passing sections to each other:)

We took some informal maternity shots at our house. Can you tell Jonathan was working that day? BOO to the pager.

Grand Anniversary

Jonathan and I decided to celebrate our 4th anniversary a week early this year since his schedule worked out better that way. We had a great 2 days while Grammy and Ole gave Caroline a mini-vacation too:)
We started out with lunch at True....truly delicious! Shrimp and grits to die for.

Then we went to Eastern Shore for some shopping and errands before dinner at a wonderful Italian place (forgot the name!). Then we headed for the Grand Hotel in Point Clear. We walked around and found a hammock and listened to the breeze in the trees....it was perfect weather.

Mark it down-I actually sat in a chair with a book and blanket. This NEVER happens!

We ordered DELICIOUS desserts. I had to take a picture. Doesn't it look like a magazine cover?

We slept late. I mean late. It was marvelous. Then we toured the grounds and it was just beautiful. I feel like I really escaped in a short amount of time.

I ate breakfast on our balcony.

Yesterday we took Caroline to her first Easter egg hunt at her future school, UMS-Wright. My expectations of fun were rated at a 3 and it ended up being a 10. So many precious children there. Caroline's hunt was for ages 0-2 which was perfect.

We gave Bully the Bulldog a five.

Got our picture made with the Easter Bunny. (hopefully they got a better picture than we did)

Isn't this little boy precious? Had to take a picture.

We were going fast picking up eggs until we discovered there were animal crackers inside the eggs!!

Fun times! Saw quite a few friends, old and new, which was nice.

Caroline is making up songs now to the tune of Dora's backpack song. She enjoys telling us what to eat ('try it, Mommy') and is still having fun with her tall tales. She knows more and more places around town and points them out when we pass by. Today she showed me where she got her haircut! Can't believe she remembers that! Seems to be in a growth spurt since she ate half a sleeve of crackers on a playdate this week! Her friend, Jack, was trying to keep up but she ate him under the table!
I am finally understanding what people mean when they say pregnancy was uncomfortable. I didn't feel half this uncomfortable last time! One of my hips is hurting so I am walking a bit strange and limpy. Going to have to slow down now.
33 weeks and counting.

Let's Pretend

We are really into pretending these days. Caroline has many pretend phone conversations that now end in 'Right back' before she flips the phone off. Tea party cakes are a favorite to pretend to eat. Singing is also a favorite. Many days I am awakened (via baby monitor) by Caroline singing her ABCs. We can't seem to get the l-m-n-o-p correct yet, but otherwise perfect:) We sing our way through shopping trips too-I'm a Little Teapot, Jingle Bells, Jesus Loves Me, You are My Sunshine, among others.

Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras and Other Days

Where has February gone???? I can't believe time is still speeding by. Baby girl will be here before we know it!

Valentine's Day was nice but nothing too crazy. Jonathan had to work and I had a cold so we stayed home from church and made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. Caroline helped me 'clean up' as she likes to say.

Must have been hard work-she was OUT for her nap. Loved her relaxing position.
We ended up meeting Daddy at Panera for dinner. Caroline likes to say she is 2 and then joke that she is 3. Her sense of humor is keeping us laughing. Just this week she has told me that she kissed and hugged snakes at Disney World, she wanted to go night-night at the mall, the baby is in her tummy, and more. She is becoming quite the bossy girl telling me not to touch things and where to sit or stand.

On Mardi Gras day, she went with Grammy and Ole to some parades all bundled up.

She came home with goodies that she is still loves to wear!

I've learned that 2 year olds can go from this:

to this very quickly. Yet I am loving this stage.

We went with Nana, Ole and Grammy to Stix one night. (one of our favorite places) Caroline loved watching the chef.

A few days ago Caroline and I went to a Curious George show. She enjoyed it but pretty much only remembers that Curious George cried and then got happy.

We got our 2nd haircut. After making a few faces in the mirror, she was very somber during the haircut but went back to her jovial self afterwards. Her expressions remind me so much of Jonathan. He has these same scowl-type expressions if he is waiting for me to get ready to go somewhere:)

We've had alot of fun playing at home. Jonathan has some new flips he does with her over his shoulder that she loves. I remember doing the exact same thing with my Dad and, just like me, she usually laughs so hard the hiccups start. She also enjoys wearing Mommy's shoes and riding on Daddy's feet.

Potty training is officially on hold until Summer. I am working on getting her to say 'Mickey' instead of 'Mimmit' and 'paci' instead of 'pappis'. Her new favorite thing to say to me is, "Chew it good" since she has heard this phrase from me so many times.
Meanwhile the belly is getting large. Here's my 31 week belly shot.
